SOCIAL WORK OFFICE ASSISTANT
Division: CNHS Department: Social Work Experience: Entry-level
Job Code: FWSSOCWKOFFAST Start Date: 8/24/2026
Supervisor/Reports To: Ashton Bartley/Robin Keathley Slone
Serve as the Office Assistant for the School of Social Work, providing clerical support, customer service, and assisting with projects and events. Ideal for students with strong communication skills and an interest in supporting social work programs.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Contribute to group and individual projects including data gathering/analysis, social media and website development, resource and internal development, and budgeting - CT, C, TW, T
  2. Act as first point of contact for visitors and callers; inform on office practices, policies, and procedures - CT, C, P, CTR
  3. Assist with special projects like Support Cycle project - C, TW, P, CT, CTR, L
  4. Assist with and contribute to department events - C, TW, P
  5. Plan, market, and host evening workshops with partners and student organizations - C, TW, L, CSD, CTR
  6. Work independently and use available resources to direct guests - CT, P
  7. Serve as receptionist; greet and direct visitors and answer phone - C, CTR
  8. Make campus deliveries; provide clerical support, proofreading, photocopying, and filing - TW
  9. Use MS Word, Excel, multi-line phone system; compile data using software programs - T
  10. Prioritize responsibilities and work inclusively in a diverse setting - L, CTR
  11. Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate schedule changes, and adhere to appropriate attire - P
  12. Effectively communicate skills and availability in application materials - CSD
