Job description

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free civil legal services across 114 Texas counties, is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for multilingual website translation, maintenance, and language management services.


About the Project

LANWT is the lead agency on the Statewide Expunction Project, a three-year initiative (October 2024–September 2027) funded by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. The selected vendor will support the launch and ongoing maintenance of ClearPathTexas.org in Spanish and Vietnamese, helping Texas residents understand and navigate the criminal record clearing process. LANWT is working with project partners including Lone Star Legal Aid, Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, The Beacon of Downtown Houston, and Texas Legal Services Center.


Scope of Work

  • Initial translation of approximately 250,000 words of core website content, a 90-county legal resource directory, and media content (graphics, PDFs/Word documents, video captions/subtitles) into Spanish and Vietnamese
  • Development and maintenance of a legal/program-specific glossary for translation consistency
  • Plain-language translations appropriate for a general public audience (approximately 6th–8th grade reading level)
  • A staging environment for LANWT review and sign-off before content goes live
  • ADA/WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance for translated content
  • Multilingual SEO, visitor language redirection, a secure collaborative management portal, workflow automation, and change logging
  • Ongoing services: content synchronization with stated turnaround times, usage/service-level reporting, 24/7 technical support, staff training, and an end-of-contract data transfer plan


Vendor Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise-level multilingual website translation
  • Experience with neural machine translation platforms enhanced by human review
  • Proven ability to support nonprofit or legal services organizations
  • Experience maintaining multilingual websites
  • Capacity to provide dedicated translation teams and 24/7 technical support
