Job description

About the Role:
The CT Scan Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare team by performing computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires the technologist to operate advanced CT scanning equipment to capture detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures with precision and care. The technologist must ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, adhering strictly to radiation safety protocols and clinical guidelines. Additionally, the role involves preparing patients for scans, explaining procedures clearly, and collaborating with radiologists to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. Ultimately, the CT Scan Technologist contributes to accurate diagnosis and effective patient care by delivering reliable imaging results in a timely and professional manner.
Shift: M-F 3p/11:30p
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program with a focus on computed tomography.
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a radiologic technologist where applicable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging protocols, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a CT Technologist by a recognized credentialing body such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting performing CT imaging procedures.
  • Additional certifications in advanced imaging techniques or specialties.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and imaging software.
  • Training in patient emergency response
  • Ability to assist in training or mentoring junior technologists or students.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate CT scanning equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures according to prescribed protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or concerns.
  • Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images and ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control policies to protect patients, staff, and self.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on CT equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Educate patients about the procedure, addressing any questions or concerns to alleviate anxiety.
