Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an Software EngineeringIntern to help design and build a solution that ingests financial data frommultiple file formats (e.g., Excel, CSV, PDFs, ERP exports), standardizes thedata, and generates automated comparisons, insights, and variance analysis.This tool will support financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes andimprove decision-making efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a system to extract, transform, and load financial data from diverse sources
  • Build models to:
    Normalize inconsistent data formats
    Map accounts across different datasets
  • Develop functionality to:
    Compare financial statements (actuals vs budget, forecast vs prior, etc.)
    Identify variances and key drivers
    Highlight anomalies or inconsistencies
    Implement data validation and reconciliation logic
  • Create user-friendly outputs such as:
    Dashboards (Power BI / web app)
    Automated reports
    Summary insights
  • Integrate with existing tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, ERP systems)
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and data accuracy
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to refine business logic and requirements

This position is an onsite, part-time role. Expected hours are 15-20 hours per week.
