What is a CSRD professional?

CSRD professionals are experts who specialize in helping organizations comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), a European Union regulation that requires companies to disclose detailed information about their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. These professionals guide companies through the process of collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data according to CSRD standards. Their work ensures transparency, improves sustainability performance, and helps companies avoid penalties for non-compliance. CSRD professionals often have backgrounds in sustainability, compliance, accounting, or corporate governance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Corporate Social Responsibility Director?

To thrive as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director, you need a strong background in sustainability, business strategy, and stakeholder engagement, often supported by a relevant degree in business, environmental studies, or a related field. Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting frameworks, sustainability certifications, and data analysis tools is typically required. Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help you drive initiatives and foster collaboration across departments. These skills are essential for developing effective CSR strategies that align with business goals and deliver positive social and environmental impact.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working on CSRD compliance projects?

Professionals involved in CSRD compliance often encounter challenges such as interpreting evolving regulatory requirements, aligning sustainability data across multiple departments, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosures. Teams must collaborate closely with legal, finance, operations, and sustainability departments to gather reliable information and standardize reporting processes. Additionally, keeping up with best practices and technological tools for data collection and reporting is crucial, as these can impact both the efficiency and quality of disclosures, as well as the company's reputation among stakeholders.

Job description

THE ROLE

Join Everpure to help build and operationalize our finance-grade sustainability data and reporting capability within the ESG Controllership. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between financial rigor and sustainability context, translating complex operational data into traceable, auditable insights. You will partner closely with Sustainability, Supply Chain, and Data & Analytics teams to scale our ESG data governance framework globally. By establishing rigorous controls, advanced analytics, and impact models, you will support our long-term compliance with emerging global sustainability disclosure standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Sustainability Data Governance & Controls: Own the validation and documentation of robust data controls and validation processes across cross-functional data owners to ensure all external ESG disclosures are entirely audit-ready, and support overall data governance program.
  • Impact Accounting Scalability: Support the refinement, scalability, and operational execution of Everpure's impact accounting models by performing rigorous reconciliations, variance analyses, and sensitivity testing to deliver highly reliable performance metrics.
  • Impact Analytics: Partner with the Data & Analytics team to build and maintain structured analytics dashboards via platforms like Tableau and Snowflake, transforming disparate operational datasets into strategic, decision-useful insights for executive and external stakeholders.
  • Finance-Grade Sustainability Reporting: Manage the delivery of finance-grade data inputs for critical sustainability reporting frameworks (including CSRD and IFRS S1/S2), independently aligning cross-functional resources to meet evolving international compliance schedules.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Controls & Audit Expertise: A rigorous internal controls and data governance mindset, with proven experience executing process walkthroughs, building control narratives, and establishing audit readiness within SOX, ICFR, or non-financial assurance environments.
  • Advanced Modeling & Data Analytics: Strong data modeling capabilities, including expertise building datalakes, handling complex formulas, multi-step calculations, and data tools (such as SQL, Snowflake, or Tableau) to structure ambiguous or evolving datasets.
  • ESG & Climate Framework Fluency: Deep working knowledge of ESG and climate reporting topics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting protocols and major international reporting frameworks like TCFD, CSRD,and IFRS S1/S2.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into clear, non-jargon summaries and the ability to build consensus among diverse global teams
  • Experience in a technology, infrastructure or relevant industry

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara HQ office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
