ABOUT HEDRICK BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION

For more than 45 years, we have delivered projects throughout Florida in hospitality, multifamily, industrial, healthcare, and public-sector markets.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Superintendent II, you independently lead a commercial construction project from mobilization through closeout, overseeing field operations, trade partners, safety, quality, and schedule execution. You may supervise Assistant Superintendents and serve as the primary field leader responsible for delivering a successful project and exceptional client experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Project Leadership

  • Lead all field operations to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and according to contract documents.
  • Supervise field personnel, coordinate manpower, and evaluate performance.
  • Build and lead effective trade partner relationships while resolving field issues as they arise.
  • Manage project startup, closeout activities, site-specific safety plans, and required project documentation.
  • Assist with estimating and pricing change orders and small projects.

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Produce schedule updates and short-term look-ahead plans that address procurement, manpower, and project milestones.
  • Lead trade partner coordination meetings and project review meetings.
  • Coordinate with Virtual Design & Construction teams to resolve constructability and coordination issues.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of tools, equipment, and materials.

Quality & Documentation

  • Lead quality control efforts using Procore inspection processes and pre-installation meetings.
  • Coordinate inspections with authorities having jurisdiction, third-party inspectors, and owners.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, daily reports, photos, and as-built documentation.
  • Track labor, material, and equipment costs and maintain accurate project records.
  • Build positive relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, and project stakeholders while supporting warranty follow-up activities.

Safety Leadership

  • Champion Hedrick Brothers' safety culture and maintain compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct and document weekly toolbox talks and jobsite safety inspections.
  • Maintain safety documentation, PPE inventories, signage, emergency resources, and SDS records.
  • Partner with the Safety Department to address hazards and correct deficiencies.
  • Complete incident reporting and investigations as needed.


WHAT YOU BRING

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6-10 years of commercial construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of CSI MasterFormat divisions and commercial construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and navigate building codes and regulatory requirements.

Certifications & Licenses

  • OSHA 30-Hour certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • AGC Supervisory Training Program (STP) completed or willingness to complete.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.

Physical Requirements

This role is primarily based on active construction sites and may involve exposure to weather, noise, dust, machinery, and varying site conditions. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
