Job description

About the Company

General Matter is enriching uranium in America.

Our goal is to design, build, and operate the worldโ€™s lowest-cost enrichment services in the United States. Our mission is to restore Americaโ€™s ability to produce nuclear fuelโ€”fuel that will power AI, advanced manufacturing, critical industries, and the next generation of nuclear reactors.

Ultimately, our work will help power national ambitions and enable a high-energy society.

We were incubated by Founders Fund, like Anduril and Palantir before us, and are backed by top-tier investors. Our lean, world-class team of engineers and operators applies a first-principles approach to solving the problem of nuclear fuel production.

We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency.

Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable.

About This Role

The Superintendent, CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) is responsible for overseeing onsite civil, structural, and architectural field operations. This position manages construction execution to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with the highest quality. The leader directs daily activities, coordinates resources, resolves technical challenges, and maintains essential documentation to drive project success.

Responsibilities
  • Direct daily civil, structural, and architectural field activities to maintain workflow continuity and meet scope, sequence, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and timely execution.
  • Partner with design engineering teams to review upcoming scopes and provide constructability input influencing design requirements, specifications, drawings, and details.
  • Develop and drive look-ahead schedules to meet project milestones and support progress tracking, change management, and cost awareness.
  • Enforce site safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, perform inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate quality control inspections to verify work conforms to drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to proactively identify and resolve field conflicts, RFIs, and constructability issues.
  • Maintain daily field reports, progress photos, and manpower counts to document work status and support project communication.
  • Serve as the primary field liaison across subcontractors, project management, engineering, and client representatives to ensure alignment and timely progress.
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of construction and engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex subcontractor work packages and make clear decisions using first-principles thinking even with partial information.
  • Demonstrated exceptional ability through prior projects, completed work, technical accomplishments, or portfolio evidence.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in fast-paced engineering or highly technical environments.
  • A resourceful approach to delivering under tight timelines or budget constraints.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
