JOB SUMMARY
Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift during night skiing operations, assist guests in safely loading and unloading the chairlift, conduct crowd control at lift lines, and enthusiastically and professionally interact with guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift

  • Be attentive at the load and unload terminals; watching not only ramp, but all areas around your station

  • Perform opening procedures at the ski lift and lift maze

  • Assisting guests of all ages and abilities to load and unload chairlifts safely

  • Enthusiastically interact with guests at every opportunity

  • Prepare and maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing workspace throughout the day as conditions change (shoveling, raking, moving snow) by completing physically demanding tasks

  • Complete required documentation such as daily logs and other documents as needed, legibly and accurately

  • Work independently or in groups to accomplish daily job-related tasks

  • Maintain the lift chairs by removing snow, ice, and precipitation for guests

  • Perform closing procedures at the ski lift and lift maze

  • Conduct/manage crowd control in lift mazes

  • Present yourself with a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Be respectful to all employees and guests at all times

  • Follow all skiing policies and codes

  • Must be dependable and reliable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18 or older

  • Ski/Snowboard experience preferred

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to maximize use of time and resources

  • Previous lift operation experience desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours while in operation.

  • Be able to work flexible work schedules

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis

  • Perform repetitive tasks

  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, bending, reaching, speaking, and sitting on a constant basis.

  • Work outside in extreme cold weather, in rain, and changing conditions for long periods of time

  • Comfortable with riding all chairlifts and being at heights
