Job Description
The Temporary Part-Time Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Consultant to provide strategic and operational support for the administration of Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) grant-funded programs. The consultant will serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to college leadership and program staff, helping ensure compliance with Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) requirements, effective grant administration, and successful day-to-day operations of EICC's Adult Education and Literacy programming.
Part-time, as needed hours scheduled on-site at the West Davenport Center, Fairmount Street
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of experience in adult education, workforce development, grant administration, or a related field.
  • Experience administering or managing AEFLA-funded programs.
  • Familiarity with Iowa Workforce Development Adult Education and Literacy requirements and reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advise EICC leadership and program staff regarding AEFLA grant requirements, program objectives, and compliance expectations.
  • Assist with monitoring of grant-funded activities.
  • Support preparation, review, and maintenance of documentation required by Iowa Workforce Development and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with grant reporting, performance monitoring, and program evaluation activities.
  • Recommend strategies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements.
  • Provide guidance on effective day-to-day management of AEL programs and services.
  • Provide recommendations on program performance, service delivery.
  • Serve as a resource to administrators, instructors, and support staff regarding AEL policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
