Job Description We are seeking a Research Scientist III to join our dynamic team supporting client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in optoelectronic materials, experimental automation, and hardware interfacing and a proven ability to design and execute high-throughput experimental workflows that accelerate materials discovery and translation to product applications. Responsibilities: Design, build, and automate an established workflow for experimental screening of organic materials to streamline data acquisition.

Develop next-generation optoelectronic materials through advanced design, fabrication, and analysis to validate concepts and assess impact. Collaborate with client to align with goals, address limitations, and resolve bottlenecks across AR/VR programs. Operate and enhance equipment for high-throughput experiments and develop a deep understanding of instrumentation.

Design and automate novel crystal growth, processing, and analysis techniques for targeted components and devices. Communicate results to internal stakeholders and external partners with clear documentation and data. Support translation of research outcomes to practical applications within client product development.

Required Skills & Qualifications: PhD or Masters in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field. 5-7 years of relevant experience at a Level III scope. Experience programming hardware interfaces such as serial/I2C/SPI, DAQ systems, and motion control using Python, LabVIEW, C, or similar languages.

2+ years experience in at least one of: chemistry, materials, organic materials, crystallization, nucleation, solid-state analysis, or optoelectronic materials. 2+ years of hands-on experimental laboratory work with demonstrated bench-to-prototype execution. Work authorization in the country of employment at time of hire and maintained during employment.

Preferred Skills: Record of impactful results demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications in high-impact journals. Experience with solid-state analysis such as diffuse reflectance, XRD, spectroscopy, DSC, and optical microscopy. Familiarity with crystallographic software including CCDC suite, BGMN, Profex, or Olex2.

Experience with HPLC, LC-MS, UV/Vis, and/or GC. Cross-functional teamwork and clear communication in research and development environments. Experience with crystal growth concepts including supersaturation and nucleation.
