This role combines secure communications administration and hands-on Land Mobile Radio (LMR) sustainment support across Over-The-Air-Rekeying (OTAR), subscriber provisioning, cryptographic key management, radio maintenance, troubleshooting, and communications infrastructure support.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting Motorola tactical communications environments, P25 radio systems, secure communications operations, and mission-critical troubleshooting in federal, public safety, or military communications environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support Over-The-Air-Rekeying (OTAR) operations for secure tactical communications systems
  • Issue and manage Radio Service Identifications (RSIs), IP addresses, and associated subscriber provisioning data
  • Support cryptographic key management activities using Key Management Facility (KMF) systems and Key Variable Loaders (KVL)
  • Access, update, and manage operational tasks using Remedy, ServiceNow, MAXIMO, or comparable ticketing and operational systems
  • Generate OTAR operational reports, secure voice Push-to-Talk (PTT) reporting, and related operational documentation
  • Provide first-echelon customer support for OTAR provisioning, secure communications issues, and subscriber support requests
  • Program, configure, test, and tune portable, mobile, consolette, and fixed Land Mobile Radio systems
  • Support Motorola LMR platforms including APX, XTS, XTL, Quantar, GTR8000, and comparable communications equipment
  • Tune, align, and test duplexers, combiners, receive multicouplers, and related RF infrastructure
  • Diagnose communications failures, radio performance issues, provisioning errors, and interoperability concerns
  • Evaluate returned field equipment, identify technical faults, and document repair or escalation actions
  • Complete work orders, service documentation, operational logs, and maintenance records
  • Support mission sustainment activities, ad hoc technical initiatives, and operational response requirements
  • Perform inventory accountability activities, including support for Inventory Taker and Local Property Officer (LPO) functions, serialized asset tracking, and equipment accountability
  • Maintain compliance with federal security, cryptographic handling, operational, and facility access requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, RF Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience may be substituted
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Land Mobile Radio systems, OTAR operations, secure communications, tactical communications, or comparable mission-critical communications environments
  • Hands-on experience with Motorola tactical communications platforms (APX, XTS, XTL, Quantar, GTR8000, or comparable)
  • Experience supporting OTAR functions, cryptographic key management, subscriber provisioning, or secure communications administration
  • Experience with Key Management Facility (KMF) systems and/or Key Variable Loaders (KVL)
  • Experience with advanced LMR radio programming, troubleshooting, tuning, and diagnostics
  • Experience aligning and testing duplexers, combiners, receive multicouplers, or related RF communications infrastructure
  • Familiarity with P25 communications systems
  • Experience using ticketing and operational systems such as Remedy, ServiceNow, or MAXIMO
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical analysis, and customer support skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, operational procedures, and maintenance work instructions
