Job description

Network Operations Center IV We have an opening for a Network Operations Center IV at (Scott AFB, IL or Ford Island, HI).
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for performing and training team on the following duties: • Create, update, and manage incident tickets using ServiceNow ITSM+S / JIRA. Independently triage the ticket queue, provide feedback, and guide tickets of concern. • Monitor network events and failures 24/7/365 using various tools. Proactively analyze alarms, correlate fault information, identify impacts, isolate root causes, and coordinate fault corrections. Develop and maintain a centralized error database. • Notify relevant contacts about network incidents. Provide timely situational awareness to leadership and impacted communities, and communicate effectively with the O&M team, customers, and external leadership. • Support fault isolation and troubleshooting, including testing and diagnosing issues with network elements. Correct or replace faulty network components and coordinate with service providers as needed. • Restore networks and services to full operation, ensure compliance with SLAs, and document changes in the Configuration Management Database. Provide 24/7/365 support for outages and service degradation, including rerouting circuits and updating on outage resolutions. • Assist in training and monitoring Network controllers, and evaluate training programs, SOPs, and tools. Provide technical advice and insights for complex issues, and work on projects impacting future operations within O&M and the DISN. • Demonstrate extensive proficiency in DISN functions (e.g., routers, switches, crypto devices) and resolve multi-layer complex issues across multiple NOCs or domains. Provide advanced technical support and guidance to peers, leadership, and customers.
Basic Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years of prior relevant experience. • Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance. ​ • Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) by the start date. • Must be able to work in a 24/7 operational environment. • Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN/WAN maintenance, performance management. • Advanced knowledge in at least four of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching. • Moderate understanding of network topologies, including both transport and IP.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a tech control facility or cyber transport operations. • Familiarity with circuit actions and vendor management. • IP/Transport architecture experience   • SolarWinds and JIRA experience • Experience in a Telco NOC or with inside or outside plant operations. • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams. • Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management. • Additional certifications such as CCNA, CYSA+, CASP, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, JNCIA-Junos, WCNA, CCIE, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4, CCA-N, CCA-V, and SolarWinds Certified Professional are desirable.
