Recruiter (Path to Head of Talent)

New York, NY

$100K - $170K/yr

Full-time

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Location: New York, NY

Work Model: In-person

Industry: Consumer crypto-trading

Compensation: $100K-$170K base, plus equity

About the Company

Our partner is a fast-moving consumer crypto-trading startup building a next-generation platform for retail traders. Backed by top-tier investors and growing quickly, their team is small, technical, and ambitious, with several roles opening across the business. This is a chance to step in early and own a function that directly shapes how the company scales.

The Opportunity

Our partner is bringing talent in-house for the first time and wants someone who will own recruiting end to end and grow into a Head of Talent within the next one to two years. You will be the connective tissue across all open roles, coordinating with external recruiting partners, sourcing and identifying strong candidates, and building a more systematic, repeatable approach to hiring.

This role is for someone who is genuinely excited to specialize in talent and own it long-term, not a generalist looking to rotate into other functions. The founders move fast, can close strong candidates in days, and want a partner who matches that energy. Compensation and equity will grow with the role as you prove yourself.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruiting processes across multiple open roles and manage relationships with external recruiting partners
  • Source and identify strong candidates, mapping out where the best talent pools live for each role
  • Build candidate profiles and clear evaluation criteria, including example backgrounds and what makes a candidate strong
  • Partner closely with the founders to iterate on sourcing strategy and improve response times and coordination
  • Move recruiting from intuition-based to a more systematic, scalable approach as the team grows
Requirements
  • 1-4 years of experience in recruiting, talent, or a closely related function (strong candidates with internship experience and exceptional drive will be considered)
  • Exposure to startups, venture capital, or quant-style talent environments
  • A genuine desire to specialize in talent and grow into a Head of Talent role over time
  • Highly organized, fast-moving, and comfortable owning coordination across many moving parts
  • Bonus: experience recruiting for or within early-stage startups, or a background at a venture firm or recruiting-focused organization
