Job description

About Us
The Crypto Council for Innovation ("CCI") is a global alliance of industry leaders in the digital assets space with a mission to demonstrate the transformational promise of crypto and communicate its benefits to policymakers, regulators, and people around the globe.
Crypto has immense potential to spur international economic growth and create jobs, improve financial inclusion and access, and enhance privacy and security. By sharing insights and expertise about the global crypto ecosystem while addressing misperceptions and misinformation, CCI supports governments and institutions worldwide in efforts to shape and encourage the responsible regulation of crypto in a way that unlocks potential and improves lives.
The Opportunity
CCI is seeking a Policy Associate to support the organization's expanding policy and regulatory work across the digital asset ecosystem.
This role is ideal for an early career policy professional with a strong interest in financial regulation, technology policy, and digital assets. The Policy Associate will play an important role in tracking legislative and regulatory developments, conducting policy research, and supporting the development of CCI's policy positions across a wide range of issues affecting the digital asset industry.
The Policy Associate will work closely with senior policy staff, government affairs and other relevant CCI colleagues, and CCI member companies. This individual will help translate complex legal and policy developments into clear insights and actionable recommendations while contributing to the execution of CCI's broader policy strategy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Policy Research & Analysis
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments impacting the digital asset ecosystem across U.S. federal agencies, Congress, key U.S. state jurisdictions, and certain global jurisdictions
  • Conduct research and analysis on issues including market structure, staking, stablecoins, digital asset taxation, custody, banking access, and decentralized finance (DeFi)
  • Track hearings, rulemakings, agency statements, and policy proposals and synthesize implications for CCI members and leadership
  • Produce rapid turn analysis of major policy developments to help brief CCI staff and members
Policy Development & Writing
  • Draft policy memoranda, issue briefs, background papers, and other written materials that support the development of CCI policy positions
  • Assist in preparing and drafting comment letters, regulatory responses, policy explainers, and briefing materials
  • Translate complex regulatory and legislative developments into clear summaries and insights for internal leadership and CCI members
  • Contribute to the development of substantive and timely public-facing policy content, including blog posts, explainers, op-eds, and social media materials that communicate CCI's policy work
  • Work with communications colleagues to translate policy developments into clear external messaging
Member Engagement & Working Groups
  • Support CCI policy working groups across key issue areas including, among others, market structure, regulatory rulemaking, staking, stablecoins, and digital asset taxation
  • Prepare agendas, background materials, and summaries for working group meetings
  • Help coordinate input from CCI member companies and incorporate member perspectives into policy development
  • Support the development of member-facing content including policy updates, briefings, and working group materials
Policy Engagement & Convenings
  • Support engagement with policymakers and regulators by preparing briefing materials and background memoranda for meetings
  • Assist senior staff in meetings and engagements with congressional offices, federal and state regulators, and other external stakeholders
  • Help organize and coordinate policy events, roundtables, and member fly-ins with policymakers and regulators
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, political science, finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a policy, research, government, or regulatory role (e.g., trade association, think tank, government office, consulting firm, or law firm)
  • Strong interest in digital assets, financial services regulation, and emerging technology policy
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex policy issues and communicate them clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves (no job is too big or too small)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on financial services, fintech, or digital asset policy issues
  • Familiarity with the U.S. policymaking process, including congressional and regulatory procedures
  • Experience drafting policy memos, regulatory analysis, or public policy research
  • Understanding of key U.S. financial regulatory frameworks (e.g., securities, commodities, banking, and/or tax law)
  • Experience and/or strong interest in global digital asset policy and regulatory developments (beyond just the U.S.)
