The Role

The Executive Assistant will support two executives and support founder meeting scheduling for the Venture and Games partners. This is an opportunity to work alongside individuals who are driven by excellence and a passion for technology. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Daily responsibilities include calendar management, coordinating virtual and in-person meetings, and travel. We would love to hear from you if you believe in and demonstrate the utmost respect and empathy for all entrepreneurs and their work, and have proven experience in high pressure client-facing situations, working with a variety of executive styles with the ability to handle all with action and grace.

This role requires onsite presence in our Menlo Park and San Francisco offices, 5 days a week. 

To join our team, you should be excited to: 
  • Build and cultivate long-term relationships 
  • Handle communications, managing inquiries, executive and founder relationships, and high-priority requests with discretion.
  • Provide proactive calendar management and complex scheduling in coordination with EAs across the firm, maintaining awareness of partner priorities and context to anticipate needs and be proactively helpful.
  • Support partnership meetings, including creating internal and external pitch meeting invites, securing conference rooms, and coordinating with IT ahead of in-person meetings.
  • Organize executive travel to attend meetings and conferences.
  • Oversee small offsites and curated dinners  including venue identification, catering, program materials and gifts. Support team operations as needed, including managing the swag process and assisting with offsite logistics.
  • Manage team lunches for the extended team on in-office days, including taking individual orders, delivering to desks, and flexibly accommodating varying headcounts.
  • Continuously improve administrative processes, anticipating needs, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall executive support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of high level experience supporting multiple senior level executives.
  • A strong, responsible team player, who thrives in a collaborative setting and works well within a matrixed environment, poised and able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, positive and personable with excellent communication skills and an upbeat, resourceful attitude - willing to take initiative with confidence.
  • Resilient, with ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work to deadlines. 
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment
  • Discretion, diplomacy and excellent judgment; high degree of integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong calendar management and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Gmail, Google Calendar, as well as key applications such as Zoom and AI tools.
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $149,000 - $165,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
