Driver Guide (CDL) SEASONAL
Job Description
Friendly and entertaining individuals are needed to join the Cape Fox Tours team as CDL Driver Guides for the summer season. Explore the wonders of Ketchikan, Alaska and transfer cruise line guests to their designated tour venue locations and cruise ships. CDL Driver Guides must present a professional manner while safely transporting guests and sharing educational details and stories on tour. CDL Driver Guides get to enjoy the great outdoors and create unforgettable memories.
This position is seasonal (April 15 - October 15). The hourly rate for this position has been established at $26.
The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
Duties Include:
  • Safely provide guest transportation utilizing excellent customer service
  • Routinely drive a transit van and provide narrated tours in vehicle and at select tour venues
  • Direct and assist passenger movement between cruise ships and tour vehicles
  • Collect tickets and provide tour itinerary to guests
  • Maintain reports of passenger counts and driving routes
  • Maintain reports of daily mileage and fuel log
  • Perform inspections on vehicles
  • Ensure vehicle is always clean; detail interior and exterior
  • Communicate with dock staff, cruise line partners, and tour venue staff
  • Report all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and damages
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surrounding area; find places and make stops in a reasonable timely manner
  • Follow all state laws while operating vehicles and ensure all pertinent insurance and other driving related documents are up to date and visible
  • Perform end-of-day duties by disposing of any left behind trash, parking in the designated area, turning off all electrical units, returning the vehicle key, etc.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in positions involving customer service or tourism is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL (at least class B) with passenger endorsement and no airbrake restrictions
  • Clean driving record/experience
  • Minimum age of 21 is required
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent personal hygiene and professional demeanor
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must be free from influence of drugs and alcohol with ability to pass a Pre-Employment DOT drug screening and join the Random Drug-Testing Consortium
  • Ability to work varied long hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must adhere to company policy on uniform and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical test and obtain a medical card.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
