Position: Children’s Rehabilitative Services Medical Director
Location: Yuma, Arizona
Department: Pediatric Rehabilitation Services

Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our community. Our Children's Rehabilitative Services (CRS) Clinic is a vital part of our commitment to pediatric care, offering specialized services to children with complex rehabilitative needs.

Job Description

YRMC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Children’s Rehabilitative Services Medical Director to lead our CRS Clinic. This crucial role involves:

  • Medical Director for Children’s Rehab Services & the Pediatric Sub Specialty Clinic.
  • Medical Director Point of Contact for all 4 CRS clinics statewide.
  • Point of Contact for 20 providers statewide, including physicians and allied health providers.
  • Providing annual medical assessments of CRS patients.
  • Coordinating care with CRS subspecialists.
  • Collaborating with the State on regulatory, insurance, and other matters.
  • Working with community providers and assessing community needs.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans for children with rehabilitative needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Mentoring and supervising medical staff.
  • Engaging in community outreach and education.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Scheduled to see patients Monday – Friday
  • Full metabolic clinic day
  • Completes comprehensive assessments on all CRS members annually. These are complex patients who receive services statewide, reviewing clinic notes from both internal and external visits.
  • Available daily for subspecialists to discuss cases, lab work, orders, etc.
  • Reviews clinic notes statewide to ensure comprehensive patient assessments, which are utilized by the ED, pediatric hospitalists, and other subspecialists.
  • Facilitates the CRS multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic, which meeting monthly.
  • Initiated the Pediatric Metabolic Clinic
  • Advocates for PCH to receive cardiology powershare, simplifying the reading of pediatric echos.
  • Works with insurance companies to address service denials, including surgeries.
  • Participates in Healthy Kids after hours and collaborates and Wellness Team.
  • Provides updates to community providers, including presentations on obesity management for primary care providers.
  • Available at all times to take calls from the ED, pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists, etc., offering extensive experience and infectious disease expertise.
  • Assists PCPs in obtaining guardianship applications for children with complicated conditions.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree with specialization in Pediatrics or a Pediatric subspecialty.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics or a Pediatric subspecialty.
  • Clinical experience in pediatric care.
  • Prior experience in a medical director or similar leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Willingness to consider J1 and/or H1B candidates.
  • Open to new graduate residents/fellows.
