Job description

Since 1887, Crouse Health has been a leading healthcare provider in Central New York. Crouse Health offers a full range of general and specialty care, inpatient and outpatient services, as well as community health education and outreach programs.
Crouse's Neuroscience Unit consists primarily of patients with a diagnosis of stroke, however many of the patients have diagnoses related to respiratory, cardiac, diabetic and renal issues. The Neuroscience team is hiring a Nursing Assistant.
The Nursing Assistant performs daily care activities to help achieve the goals of the patient care plan as directed by the Registered Professional Nurse.
Pay Range: $19.75-26.13/hour (based on experience).
Rotating Schedule:
Crouse also offers competitive Shift Differentials on Evenings, Nights and Weekends!
Nursing Assistant Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists the patient with daily care activities including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulating, personal hygiene and taking of vital signs.
  • Supports and actively contributes to the achievement of the patient's goals associated with the plan of care.
  • Individualizes communication based on the needs of the patients and families.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have one year of patient care experience, or is currently attending an accredited Registered Nursing program and has successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing coursework.
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire date.
