Job description

Under the direction of the Gymnastics Coordinator and in accordance with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Gymnastics Instructor administers the policies and programs when teaching recreational classes.

  • Ability to see and hear clearly 30 yards away.
  • Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the Gymnastics Center.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist a gymnast.
  • Ability to move equipment including the strength to push or pull 75 pounds, and lift or carry 50 pounds.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Gymnastics.
  • Must be able to communicate well with others and be a team player.
  • Have current certification in CPR/AED.
  • Ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner.
  • Must be able to "spot" preschool and recreational gymnasts during activities in the gym.
  • Must be able to "spot" beginner to intermediate skills on beam, bars, vault and floor.

Physical Requirements:
