Crossroads Charter Academy is currently hiring a Part Time Food Service Worker to join their team!
5 days a week/ up to 29 hours a week - Normal hours will be 8am-130pm

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Food Service staff to join our team. This position involves preparing, serving, and cleaning up after meals while adhering to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for promoting healthy eating habits among students and work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel to create a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
  • Follow health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Help with clean up and dishes daily.
  • Interact positively with students, staff, and faculty to create a welcoming environment.
  • Address student dietary needs and preferences, providing assistance as needed.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and inventorying food and supplies.
  • Help manage kitchen supplies to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Participate in waste management and recycling initiatives.
  • Work cooperatively with other food service staff to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
  • Participate in staff training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Responsible for all phases of food preparation and serving.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Supervise students during meal periods.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Cognitive Demands:
  • Ability to recall and follow all protocols set by the USDA and the Academy
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Have successful written and verbal communication
  • Ability to supervise multiple students at once

Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, walk, reach, lift, push, pull, talk or hear frequently
  • Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
  • Withstand a moderate noise level

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Fill in for breakfast as needed
