Job description

Cross Guard

Responsible for making sure traffic at MSY Airport runs smoothly and efficiently. Customer service skills are a must. Cross Guard must be able to handle high volume traffic especially during weekends & holidays. Quick problem solver and able to work well with others. Ideal for applicants with previous security experience. Previous experience a plus but not required.

40 hour a week shifts including weekends. Two shifts: 8:30AM-5:30PM; 5:30PM- 2:00 AM.

**This position requires being on your feet for 8 hours as well as being outside throughout the entire shift. Work in rain or shine, hot or cold**

Responsibilities:

- Safely guide pedestrians across designated crosswalks

- Ensure the safety of pedestrians by following traffic rules and regulations

- Monitor and manage pedestrian traffic flow during peak hours

- Communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians to ensure a safe crossing experience

- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities

- Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe behavior near the crosswalk

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pedestrians and drivers

- Strong observation skills to identify potential hazards or unsafe behavior

- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations

Responsibilities:
- Safely guide pedestrians, especially children, across designated crosswalks
