Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s Product Biology Team is seeking an R&D Specialist in Vero Beach, FL, USA. This role will support designing, executing, and managing laboratory, greenhouse, and field trials focused on soil and plant health products. You will work closely with agricultural scientists at the Vero Beach Research Center to deliver high-quality research outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and support high-quality field, greenhouse, and laboratory trials to advance biological and plant health products.
  • Provide technical support for trials, such as helping design and improve application equipment.
  • Oversee greenhouse operations (e.g., irrigation, heating, and cooling) to ensure reliable trial results.
  • Contribute to project planning and execution, such as trial setup, data collection, and reporting.
  • Develop demonstration trials to showcase commercial benefits for key stakeholders and site visitors.
  • Recommend and apply appropriate crop maintenance practices to support trial success.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agricultural science (e.g., agronomy, plant pathology, soil science) preferred; knowledge of biostimulants or plant health products is a plus  
  • Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills  
  • Experience using field research or laboratory equipment  
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities  
  •  Proficient with digital tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, ARM) and effective communication skills  
  • Comfortable working in field and greenhouse conditions; able to travel up to 10% 

Desired:

  • M.S. or B.S plus a minimum of three years of relevant experience. 

Additional Information

Salary for this position ranges between $64,000 - $96,000 annually.
