Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Emergency Services team during deployments and at times when team members are unavailable, including updating clinical records and gathering insurance data.

  • Respond to client crises by providing onsite risk assessment, crisis engagement, and facilitating client evaluation with telehealth clinicians, as well as supporting clients in crisis apartments.

  • Assist with operational readiness tasks such as safety checks, building maintenance, apartment admissions and discharges, and managing the ES phoneline.

Description

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a third shift Crisis Support Specialist to join our Emergency Services team! The Crisis Support Specialist is divided between providing administrative support during deployments and at times, deploying to the community where other team members are unavailable to do so. When deploying to the community, the CSS does so alongside ES clinicians and Peers and respond to client crises and facilitate client evaluation. When office based, provides administrative support to ES team during deployments, such as opening clients up to services, updating clinical record, gathering important insurance data, etc. Completes other administrative tasks such as scheduling of urgent care appointments, building security checks, managing ES phoneline. ย Provides supervision and supports to clients in the crisis apartments for brief periods to allow relief and deployment of other ES Staff.


Duties & Responsibilities:ย 

  • Provide administrative support to ES team prior to, during, and post deployment which includes updating charts in the EMH, gathering insurance information, coordinating deployments with the Access Point, law enforcement, and the deployment team.ย 
  • Completes other administrative tasks such as scheduling urgent care appointments, hospital discharges, tracking client admits and discharges, collaborating with local Emergency Departments about possible admits or discharges, etc.ย 
  • Respond to the ES Support Line and collaborating with Agency On-Call systems as well as community partners such as hospitals and police.ย 
  • Complete tasks maintain operational readiness such as routine safety sweeps of the building, routine upkeep of agency vehicle, light cleaning and maintenance of apartments and work spaces, etc.ย 
  • Assist in apartment admissions and discharges as needed
  • Monitor and support clients in the apartments for brief periods of time to allow for deployment and relief of ES staff.ย 
  • Supports office based or community-based deployments or urgent care appointments, where a peer or clinician are absent or unavailable.ย 
  • Provides onsite risk assessment and crisis engagement and facilitates crisis evaluation between client and telehealth clinician as well as follow ups.ย 
  • Assists and supports building safety checks, inventories, and assigned operational readiness tasks to ensure ES teams are able to efficiently deploy to community.ย 
  • Complete special projects, administrative or operational tasks as assigned.ย 

Requirements

Qualifications:ย 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Communication, etc. is preferred
  • 1 to 2 years related work experience
  • Must have organizational, written, and verbal skillsย 
  • Basic computer experience
  • Successful candidates will be organized self-starters who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Email, Word, EXCEL)ย 
  • Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to start and stop tasks quickly but to ensure that all tasks are completed in a reasonable time frameย 
  • Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments
  • Ability to provide basic risk assessmentsย 
  • Ability to exercise judgment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with liability insurance in the amount required by agency policyย
