Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Location: Irvine, CA
Job Type: Full-time / Hybrid
Position Summary
ETAP is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge of design, modeling, and analysis of electric power systems, electrical machines, and power electronics. Extensive software development experience in MS C++ is required, and development experience in electric power system simulation software is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research, design, write specifications, and prototype for various power system modeling.
  • Lead and develop in the ETAP software environment.
  • Support ETAP marketing, workshops, and technical support.
  • Lead and supervise engineering service projects.

Qualifications
  • A Professional Electrical Engineer license is required.
  • 5 to 10 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in modeling and analysis of power system studies.
  • Capabilities in researching, designing, and testing of various power system simulation models.
  • Ability to follow various industrial standards and write specifications.
  • Highly motivated, self-managed, details-oriented, and well-organized; good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Desirable to have experience in developing simulation software with Microsoft Visual C++.
  • Desirable to have experience in power system software development.

Education
  • MS or PhD in Power System Engineering or Electrical Engineering. An MS degree in Computer Science is a plus.

Salary range: $125,000 - 195,000 Annual
This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
ETAP requires all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment. Background checks will be conducted in accordance with local laws and may, subject to those laws, include proof of educational attainment, employment history verification, proof of work authorization, criminal records, identity verification, credit check.
