Join our team as an Avionics Crew Chief, where you'll oversee daily crew operations, provide hands-on training, and ensure all maintenance work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. In this role, you'll monitor progress, manage personnel performance, coordinate resources, and serve as a key link between technicians and leadership to keep projects on schedule. ST Engineering Aerospace is located in Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. We meet our customers' requirements by providing a full spectrum of high-quality, reliable, and timely AMM and engineering solutions. We have the know-how and experience to comprehensively manage complex projects, ensuring our customers' aircraft operate safely and efficiently.

What YOU will do: 

The Crew Chief shall be responsible to his/her Senior Crew Chief / Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew.  The Crew Chiefs duties shall be assigned / reassigned by your Senior Crew Chief / Manager. Note: When performing Crew Chief duties as described in this section, the employee is directly supervising the technicians on your assigned crew

 In This Role YOU will: 

  1. Provides on-the-job training and technical assistance to personnel in your crew.
  2. Evaluates the performance of personnel on your crew and make recommendations as necessary to your supervisor.
  3. Performs only that work authorized by your senior crew chief and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc.
  4. Ensures that all tools and equipment used by your crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
  5. Recommends to your supervisor any requirements or improvements for your crew.
  6. Exercises control over stock checked out of Stockroom by employees on your crew.
  7. Complete your crew timecards and approve all hours worked.
  8. Reports to your senior crew chief, with recommendations for any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the crew.
  9. Recommend disciplinary action within your crew.
  10. Assists your senior crew chief as requested in the evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts, manhours and span time, and indicate corrective action.
  11. Monitors, continuously, work progress.
  12.  Keeps your supervisor apprised of the status at all times, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
  13.  Assists his/her senior crew chief in preparation of the shift status and change-over reports.
  14. Perform any work that may be assigned by your senior crew chief.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:  

Good working knowledge of all appropriate mechanical skill levels, through understanding of all FAR's and company policies and procedures, through knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials, knowledge of all maintenance and internal paperwork including all personnel forms and documentation 

INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:

 

A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co-workers and management.

PHYSICAL ENVIORMENT:

 

Requires easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.


What YOU Need:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Airframe license and/or repairman certificate
  • 4 years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience, heavy maintenance work experience in the Avionics field required
