Job description

This position will advise graduate students in Computer Science & Engineering department on academic programs, policies and procedures, transfer credits, students on probation, and will make recommendations when appropriate. The Academic Advisor will also assist the Manager of Academics in related duties.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related area
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or other appropriate field.
Required Experience:
2+ years Experience in student advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years Experience advising students at the college or university level, preferably in computer science.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to advise and provide solutions to problems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of standard office software. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,300.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
