Credit Sesame is a leading financial wellness platform dedicated to helping consumers achieve better financial health through cutting-edge technology and data-driven solutions. With a decade of credit expertise and a proven track record of serving over 18 million users, Credit Sesame leverages AI and advanced analytics to empower individuals to better understand and manage their credit. Our recently launched Sesame Platform extends our mission by providing financial institutions with a turnkey AI-powered credit intelligence solution.
Reporting directly to our General Counsel, Credit Sesame is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with world-class expertise in transactional law and sophisticated contract drafting. In this role, you will serve as the primary architect for our commercial relationships, complex partnerships, and enterprise agreements. If you are a master of contractual precision, a proactive risk-mitigator, and a strategic negotiator who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Masterful Contract Drafting & Architecture: Draft, structure, and negotiate high-stakes, commercial contracts, including enterprise SaaS agreements, strategic partnerships, technology integrations, and vendor agreements.
  • Strategic Deal Making: Serve as the lead legal partner on complex transactions, translating business objectives into robust, protective, and scalable legal frameworks.
  • Regulatory & Commercial Alignment: Seamlessly integrate complex fintech regulations (consumer protection, privacy, data security) directly into commercial agreements to protect the company while facilitating growth.
  • Standardization & Scale: Design, refine, and maintain playbooks, standard templates, and clause libraries to streamline the contract lifecycle and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Cross-Functional Advisory: Provide clear, actionable, and risk-adjusted legal counsel to product, marketing, and business development teams to empower corporate growth.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay ahead of evolving fintech, privacy, advertising, and other consumer protections laws to ensure both our products and our commercial agreements remain strictly compliant.

What You'll Bring
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney, with at least 7 years deeply embedded within the fintech, banking, or broader financial services sectors.
  • Transactional Expertise: A proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex, multi-party commercial agreements and enterprise SaaS models. You possess an elite command of contract mechanics, indemnification, liability allocation, and data IP structures.
  • Fintech & Regulatory Literacy: Deep working knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations (e.g., FCRA, FTCA/UDAP, UDAAP, GLBA, TILA, EFTA, state privacy laws) and how they intersect with commercial transaction risk.
  • Precision & Pragmatism: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You draft with extreme clarity and possess the business acumen to balance rigorous risk mitigation with commercial reality.
  • Agility: Comfort navigating ambiguity and a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deal deadlines.
  • A plus: Prior experience negotiating and drafting corporate investment transactions, including equity and debt transactions.

What We Offer
  • Equity in a pre-IPO company backed by top VCs;
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance;
  • Monthly home office stipend;
  • Professional development stipend to support your continued growth
  • Flexible paid time off;
  • 10 paid holidays and an additional 6 Sesame Wellness days;
  • A culture that emphasizes total wellness, including work-life harmony.
At Credit Sesame, base pay is one part of our total compensation package. The estimated pay range for this role is $190,000 - $240,000 with actual salary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Credit Sesame's equity plans.
We are open to hiring for this role in the following states where we are set up to hire employees: CA, CO, NC, NJ, NV, and TX.
