Application Deadline: 7 August 2026
Department: Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Remote - USA
Reporting To: Director of Risk & Fraud
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 / year
Description
Location: Remote - Working primarily in US time zones and collaborating with a distributed team.
We're hiring a Risk & Fraud Associate to join our Operations team and help safeguard the ProphetX platform. You'll monitor payment activity, review withdrawal requests, and investigate potential fraud as it comes up, using internal tools to spot unusual patterns and escalate concerns to the right teams. You'll also share what you're seeing with Product, Compliance, and Operations, so risk trends get addressed quickly.
This role regularly includes night and weekend shifts as part of a normal work schedule, typically 2:00 to 10:00 PM PT on a Tuesday-to-Saturday or Sunday-to-Thursday rotation (exact schedule TBD).
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor user payment activity and withdrawal requests to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious or fraudulent activity in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Use internal tools to review transaction data and surface unusual patterns.
  • Approve or deny withdrawal requests in line with company policy and risk protocols.
  • Communicate trends, risks, and findings to Product, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of investigations, resolutions, and escalations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of fraud detection workflows and preventative measures.
  • Support platform stability by keeping payment and withdrawal processes running smoothly.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A quick, detail-oriented problem-solver who can spot irregularities and assess risk under pressure.
  • Active listening and strong comprehension skills, with the confidence to ask questions when something doesn't add up.
  • A clear communicator who collaborates easily across teams.
  • Comfort learning new internal tools and systems quickly.
  • Willingness to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
  • No prior experience in risk, fraud, or payments required. This is an entry-level role, and we'll provide comprehensive training.
  • Familiarity with payment systems, financial products, or fraud detection tools.
  • Previous experience in risk, trust and safety, or a compliance-adjacent role.
  • General knowledge of trading or prediction markets landscape.
  • Familiarity with a CFTC-regulated or financial services product environment.

Why Join Us!
  • Competitive compensation aligned to role and market
  • Equity opportunities so you share in what we're building
  • A clear connection between impact and reward
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible time off built on trust and accountability
  • A culture that respects your time and avoids unnecessary meetings
  • Fully remote within the U.S.
  • Flexibility to work in the way that helps you do your best work
  • Help define what integrity looks like for a newly CFTC-regulated prediction markets exchange
  • Real ownership over the judgment calls and systems that keep the market fair
  • Work alongside an amazing team where your voice shapes decisions
  • We're regulated, we're growing, and we're still early enough that you get to be part of the "wait, you were there for that?" stories later
