We provide technology that community financial institutions use to manage risk and drive growth. Our solutions automate key processes – from anti-money laundering to fraud detection to CECL readiness to lending workflows – empowering our customers by addressing their Enterprise Risk Management needs.  

The Senior Consultant – Lending & Credit is a key role within the Advisory Services team reporting to the Director of Lending and Credit Advisory services, focused on providing expert guidance to financial institutions. This position involves leading advisory engagements, delivering strategic recommendations, and serving as a subject matter expert in banking and financial services. As part of a dynamic and growing team, this role offers opportunities to work with a variety of clients, providing best practices and formal deliverables across multiple areas of lending and credit risk.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with deep expertise in credit and lending, strong analytical skills, and a strategic mindset. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of financial institution operations, experience working in leadership roles within banking, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable recommendations for clients.

Applicants may choose to work remotely or be hybrid-based at our office in Raleigh (NC) or Austin (TX).

What You'll Do:

  • Lead advisory engagements and serve as a subject matter expert in lending, credit risk, and financial strategy.
  • Provide recommendations and develop deliverables on best practices for credit and lending policies and procedures.
  • Consult clients in developing small business lending decision models.
  • Analyze and optimize loan origination workflow efficiencies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices from application to loan closing.
  • Guide financial institutions in establishing and refining credit risk frameworks, including risk rating systems and risk scorecards.
  • Stay current on credit-related compliance requirements and demonstrate a willingness to research and integrate new regulations into advisory offerings.
  • Support financial institutions in enterprise strategic planning initiatives.
  • Deliver formal reports and presentations to client leadership teams, ensuring actionable insights and high-quality recommendations.
  • Provide insights and thought leadership on topics that define the current banking landscape.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel required for team events to support engagement, relationship-building, and key decision-making.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications, such as CPA, banking/finance certifications, and/or graduate school of banking completion preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and refining credit policies to align with regulatory requirements and institutional risk management strategies.
  • Prior experience in enterprise strategic planning.
  • A broad range of experience, preferably in community banking, with exposure to multiple functional areas.
  • Executive committee experience may substitute for direct lending experience.
  • Familiarity with small business lending decision modeling, loan pricing, strategic planning, and asset-liability management components is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and industry advancements.
  • Proactive approach to leveraging innovative tools and solutions to enhance client outcomes.
