InflexionPoint is currently looking for a Technical Manager – Data Centers. As the Technical Manager, you will serve as the senior technical authority for InflexionPoint’s Data Center business vertical, ensuring engineering excellence, technical quality commissioning success, and development of technical talent. This includes overseeing the design, development, and implementation of control and automation solutions for mission critical applications, with an emphasis on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. 


The Technical Manager will manage multidisciplinary teams contributing to system architecture, hardware design, functional/software design, programming, commissioning, and operational support for systems across multiple projects in mission-critical environments such as data centers. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the General Manager – Data Centers. 


Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Establish technical standards, governance, and engineering best practices
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical risk management, and quality assurance
  • Support complex project pursuits, estimating, design reviews, FAT/SAT, startup, and commissioning
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads
  • Act as trusted advisor to customers and project teams
  • Partner with business leadership to expand technical capabilities and market relevance
Requirements:

 Technical Requirements

  • Experience in mission-critical, industrial, or infrastructure environments (e.g., data centers), including utility coordination, automation integration, and operational protocols 
  • Familiarity with GAMP requirements and validation in regulated environments 
  • Experience with project management and simultaneous execution of multiple projects 
  • Proficiency in programming Allen Bradley Logix Family PLCs; experience with Siemens, Schneider, GE, Opto 22 is a plus. 
  • Experience in HMI/SCADA systems design and configuration (Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.) 
  • Experience with instrumentation and control devices and related troubleshooting in the field.  
  • Familiarity with network architecture for industrial controls and cybersecurity practices 

Education, Certifications and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics) 
  • 10-15+ years of controls, automation, PLC, or SCADA leadership experience
  • Strong experience in commissioning, startup, and deployment of systems in production environments
  • Excellent communication skills for customer and vendor interface, internal collaboration, and documentation
  • Experience at a Systems Integration firm highly desirable
  • DDC/BAS experience a plus


Working Environment  

Duties are performed in an office environment and/or remotely (hybrid), but will also require travel to customer sites/locations to perform installation supervision, on-site deployment, site testing, training, maintenance & troubleshooting, etc. Must be willing to travel approximately 75%; must be willing to work in a variety of locations.  Willing to work in industrial / noisy environment with appropriate PPE when on-site. 


Physical Demands  

Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged hours consistent with the average workday; to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to computer, printer, etc. Must be able to perform frequent site walk throughs, climb stairs and/or ladders, occasionally access/inspect interior of equipment; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; must be able to move, transport, position, place, install, remove and/or replace various types of equipment; must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
