The Credit Risk Associate will analyze and mitigate credit risk exposure for RWEA.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor counterparty credit exposures, including payment, performance, and supplier risks, for assigned portfolios primarily in North America
  • Prepare concise credit reports and rating assessments using financial statements, rating agency reports, and market news to support internal approvals. Utilize AI per policy guidelines, verifying data accuracy
  • Set up, monitor and maintain counterparty profiles, credit limits, and collateral requirements within RWE Credit Risk systems under supervision
  • Support credit risk initiatives and internal reporting through accurate data collection and maintenance, including incoming and outgoing collateral
  • Utilize credit risk systems to input, track and manage credit exposures in line with policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Legal and Front/Back Office teams to review credit requirements and ensure compliance with contractual terms

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, finance or economics required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in counterparty credit management within the energy, utilities, or banking sectors
  • Experience in analysis of corporate and financial institutions from a credit risk, balance sheet, and cash flow perspective
  • Working knowledge of different contracts e.g. ISDA, PPA's, REC, and the credit terms within those contracts is a plus
  • Experience successfully prioritizing and completing work independently, demonstrating initiative, dependability, and strong self-motivation
  • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long durations of time
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $73,000 - $100,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
