Afternoon Credit Recovery Facilitator

REPORTS TO:
Building Administrator- Principal and Assistant Principal
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma Required
Associate's or bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
-Prior experience working in a school setting, tutoring, or using digital learning platforms such as Edgenuity is preferred.
-Strong organizational and communication skills to work with students, parents and staff.
-Ability to motivate and support students struggling with credit recovery.
-Proficiency with technology and online learning platforms.
-Experience managing student behavior in a classroom setting.
DESCRIPTION:
The Credit Recovery Facilitator will oversee, and support students enrolled in the Credit Recovery program, which integrates in-person instruction with digital coursework through Egenuity or other appropriate platforms. This role ensures that students who are credit- deficient receive the necessary guidance and structure to complete their required coursework and stay on track for graduation. The facilitator will provide direct supervision, academic support, and motivation to students working through their credit recovery courses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Monitor and assist students completing coursework on Edgenuity and other mediums, ensuring they stay on pace to recover credits.
-Provide Instructional support and clarification on assignments when needed.
-Maintain a structured classroom environment conducive to independent learning and academic success.
- Track student progress and attendance, ensuring they meet required seat time and digital learning hours.
-Communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify student needs and adjust interventions.
-Provide motivational support and academic coaching to encourage students to complete coursework.
-Maintain accurate records of student progress and report updates to parents and school leadership.
-Ensure compliance with school policies and guidelines related to credit recovery.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The course will run Monday to Friday in two sessions from October 5th- December 18th and from March 1st- May 26th. Each session will run from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.
REMUNERATION:
Salary will be in accordance with the current KEA contract.
