The Role

Conway Services is seeking a high-level Controller to lead the financial operations of a $35M+ service center. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role that requires both strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to influence operational performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner directly with the General Manager and leadership team to own financial performance, drive accountability, and improve profitability across the business. This is not a passive reporting role. This is a position for someone who leans in, challenges the business, and drives results.   • Act as a strategic financial partner to the General Manager and operations leaders, aligning financial performance with business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with service, sales, dispatch, fleet, customer service, purchasing, safety, and HR to evaluate financial impact and guide decisions
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls across inventory, purchasing, labor reporting, and A/P processes
  • Lead profitability analysis, labor efficiency tracking, and cost reduction initiatives across all operating areas
  • Own monthly financial reporting, quarterly forecasting, and annual operating and capital planning
  • Drive an accurate and disciplined month-end and year-end close process
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity and account reconciliations
  • Lead and develop the local accounting team, setting a high-performance standard
  • Oversee billing, credit, and collections to optimize cash flow
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and enforce company-wide accounting policies and controls

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in accounting or a related discipline and minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience are required.
  • Prior management in high volume transactional accounting highly preferred
  • Related education and /or training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
  • Intermediate or expert proficiency using Microsoft Office products, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook are required. JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with ability to establish cross function relationships.
  • Proven leadership and possession of problems solving skills.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include word processing, spreadsheet software and integrated ERP/ accounting systems.
