This role will develop, administer, and monitor credit and collection programs. This role will oversee the investigation of credit risk in customers and advise on course of action for credit applications. This role will design and implement processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. This role will negotiate the collection of overdue accounts. This role partners with Sales, customer service, returns and senior business leaders to deliver exceptional credit and collections management. This role will manage direct reports in the day-to-day performance of their jobs and has full authority for personnel actions in partnership with the Director and Human Resources.

How success is defined:
  • Lead a team of collectors, set goals, and manage the day-to-day operations of the collections department.
  • Develop and implement credit policies and collection strategies to minimize bad debt and manage risk.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers through credit checks and financial statement analysis.
  • Set credit limits and terms for customers and monitor the credit risk portfolio to minimize potential losses.
  • Oversee the daily management of outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely payment.
  • Coordinate with other departments, like sales and customer service, to resolve billing issues and manage escalated collection disputes.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on credit and collection performance, including key metrics and trends, to provide insights to senior management.
  • Ensure all credit and collection activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop the credit and collections staff while partnering with HR to address performance and policy violation issues.
  • Work to identify and implement improvements in invoicing, collections, and overall process efficiency.
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Exhibits and adheres to the established Visual Comfort Company Values.

What you will bring:
  • At least 4-8 years of experience in credit and collections
  • At least 1-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Extensive knowledge of the credit and collections function and processes
  • Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Microsoft Excel to create tables etc.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

Compensation Range: $98,000 - $124,000
