L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced technical writer.

 

Essential Functions:

 

      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      Strong editing, proofreading, and formatting skills

      Proficiency in researching and analyzing detailed technical processes to extract technical information

      Confidence and experience with team coordination, including working with engineers, customer representatives, subject matter experts, vendors, technical personnel, and the internal illustration team

      Adaptable to changing priorities and workloads and able to work independently

      Strong time-management skills

      Proficient with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and/or Extensible Markup Language (XML)

      Experience authoring Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, Technical Orders (TOs), Technical Manuals (TMs), User's Manuals, and other related technical documents in various formats

      Familiar with military and aerospace technical documentation requirements, such as standards and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-DTL-38807, S1000D)

      Familiar with SGML and/or XML content for DoD operation and maintenance manuals

      Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

      Proficient with Adobe Acrobat

 

Qualifications:

      Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

      Occasional travel required

      Ability to obtain security clearance and maintain eligibility requirements to access U.S. classified information
