We are seeking a thoughtful and imaginative Poetry & Creative Writing Instructor for our afterschool program at PS166! This position is perfect for someone who believes in the power of words and wants to help K-5 students express themselves through poetry, journaling, and creative storytelling.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • ead fun and accessible poetry and writing activities tailored for young learners.
  • E
  • ncourage students to explore rhyme, rhythm, and voice while building confidence as writers.
  • P
  • lan creative prompts and group sharing circles that invite self-expression.
  • H
  • elp students create poetry books, zines, or presentations to proudly share with families.
  • C
  • ollaborate with admin and complete all digital reporting tasks.
    This is you:

  • xperience working with students, preferably elementary age.

  • trong background in creative writing, poetry, or literature.

  • xperience teaching or mentoring children in writing.
