We are looking for a Cost Improvement / VEVA Specialist to drive value engineering initiatives across our Airbag Division. This strategic role will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout North America, supporting airbag manufacturing locations in Canada, US, and Mexico while helping achieve our direct material cost reduction targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives focused on direct materials and product value optimization.

  • Facilitate ideation and value engineering workshops to generate innovative savings opportunities.

  • Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business Units to identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Build robust financial business cases to support project approvals and implementation.

  • Ability to learn ECAN and other VEVA applications to become subject matter expert on business tools to develop and validate savings opportunities.

  • Coordinate alignment among key stakeholders to successfully execute approved initiatives.

  • Support achievement of VEVA and SmartBOM objectives for the Airbag Division.

  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely execution and delivery of results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, or a related field.

  • Experience in cost reduction, value engineering, program management, purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, or a related function- Preferred.

  • Experience with airbag or automotive safety restrains- Preferred.

  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional workshops for ideas generation.

  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases.

  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to management and leadership teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerBI.
