Job description

Description:

Job Description

Summary/objective:

Angel Studios is looking for a Creative Marketing Writer to bring our titles to life through copy that grabs attention and makes people care. You'll write across formats, from short, scroll-stopping social copy to long form and marketing video scripts, ensuring every piece reflects the title's tone, audience, and brand standards. This role is as much about ideas as execution: you'll contribute to brainstorms and pitch concepts, not just polish what's already decided. We're looking for a strong writer with sharp editorial skill and the flexibility to handle a high-volume, multi-title workload.

Expectations at Angel Studios:

  • Amplify light in every action.
  • As the owner of your outcomes, you are empowered to break down silos and coordinate with any and all people you need in order to reach your goals.
  • You are ultimately responsible for achieving the outcomes while also using resources wisely - whether that be money, people, or time.
  • Know your customer - it might be our viewers, investors, creators, or internal Angel Teams. Ensure you understand your customer and are providing what THEY need and not just what you want to build.

Essential functions

  • Partner with creative stakeholders to define, refine, and maintain the unique voice and core messaging across all channels, shaping frameworks that support campaign objectives, brand positioning, and audience engagement goals.
  • Write, proofread, and edit compelling, high-converting content for print, web, mobile, video, social media, ads, email campaigns, landing pages, and other mediums, while collaborating with account and creative teams to brainstorm and develop concepts.
  • Partner with the Creative Directors to write and refine scripts for marketing video content, social media, promotional campaigns, and other storytelling-driven marketing initiatives.
  • Translate creative concepts into engaging narratives that connect with audiences while maintaining each title's unique voice and marketing objectives.
  • Develop copy that is designed not only to inform, but to entertain, surprise, and inspire conversation across marketing channels.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of brand nuances, market positioning, and audience psychology, integrating persuasive conversion tactics into compelling brand narratives.
  • Partner with creative directors and cross-functional teams to ensure copy aligns with the visual creative, attending structured creative syncs and title handoff meetings.
  • Use research, campaign learnings, performance metrics, and industry insights to continuously refine messaging, while staying current on communications best practices, industry trends, and competitive approaches.
  • Immerse in Angel content across tiers and formats to develop informed, authentic copy that reflects each title's tone and audience.
  • Navigate a high-volume, multi-title workload, adapting to varying creative direction and partner requirements across projects.
  • Publish and optimize branded content using SEO best practices to increase visibility, reach, and engagement.
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal English skills, with additional language proficiency considered a strong advantage.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Competencies

  • Excellent creative writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt voice to diverse projects and voices
  • Comfortable balancing conversion-focused copywriting with creative storytelling based on campaign objectives.
  • Thrives in collaborative creative environments, contributing original ideas while building on the ideas of others.
  • Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment, adapting as priorities change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity.
  • Can take feedback to tasks and assignments positively and create better solutions.
  • A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs.
  • Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives.
  • Ability to take individual ownership, execute with high energy, share context, insist on candor with positive intent.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, collaborate effectively, and communicate with clarity
  • Commitment to personal and professional development

Work environment - When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.

Physical demands - Will need to be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods of time.

Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.

Travel required - Must be willing and able to travel out-of-state and internationally if needed.

Required education and experience

  • 3-4 years writing and editing for multiple brands

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
  • 4+ years writing and editing for multiple brands
  • Familiarity with Angel, the Angel Guild, and our body of work (films, series, and other projects).

Work authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States.

At Angel Studios, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
