Job description

Title: Creative Coordinator
Department: Creative
Reports to: Art Director of Special Projects
Primary Role:
The Creative Coordinator is responsible for administration, project management, office management, communication, and coordination in support of the Creative Department. He or she is responsible for administrative support for Directors in the Creative Division and the VP of Creative when needed.
Accountability:
The Creative Coordinator will meet on a regular basis with the Art Director of Special Projects for the purpose of reviewing plans and progress and evaluating results, and will be prepared to provide updates on the status of assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate regularly with fellow departments (primarily Editorial, Production, and Typesetting) about ongoing projects
  • Communicate regularly with artists and design agencies about ongoing projects
  • Manage book design schedules and tracking documents
  • Prepare presentations for creative handoff meetings
  • Support Art Director, Design Director, Video Director, and VP of Creative as needed
  • Communicate with authors about cover designs as needed
  • Purchase and maintain image and font licenses
  • Manage department expense records and creative service contracts
  • Maintain design-related fields on internal databases
  • Assist with shipping packages and sending designers copies of books
  • Process artwork and file requests from Licensing, Sales and other departments
  • Help with travel arrangements, shipping, and expense management as requested
  • Purchase office supplies and keep office libraries up to date and organized as necessary

Position Requirements:
  • A college degree with 3-5 years experience
  • Strong communication skills, especially relating to design principles and deliverables
  • Experience with project management
  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail
  • Organized, self-motivated, and good interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 annually
