Job description

THE ROLE

We Are Social is looking for a seasoned Creative Director to join our growing team! This role is for you if you are looking for an opportunity to produce the best work of your career while helping creative teams grow through strong management and development. You will be responsible for leading and inspiring the creative department to deliver high quality, innovative campaigns that align with client identities. You will bridge the gap between abstract client needs and actionable creative tasks, ensuring every project is strategically sound and impeccably executed. By fostering a collaborative environment and championing AI integration, you will push the boundaries of storytelling and brand impact.

WE ARE

A creative agency powered by social connections. That means we thrive on what's trending and creating campaigns that get people buzzing. We call it "Ideas Worth Talking About," and we're proud to have played a part in some of the most culturally relevant campaigns of the decade for brands like McDonald's, Adidas, Universal Studios, and YouTube.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE

  • We like to laugh, we live for celeb gossip and we're great on AUX
  • Our passport program lets you explore and work from one of our 18 other offices worldwide, including Paris, Singapore, Madrid, Dubai, London and more
  • You best believe we know how to celebrate our wins. And our losses (it's how we learn)
  • From carbon offsets to community kitchens, we're passionate about making a difference
  • Did we say snacks? Because we have great snacks (Shoutout to Sheila who keeps the kitchen stocked)

YOU ARE

  • A person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly and proactively
  • Not interested in just following trends - you want to create them
  • A self-starter, who'll take ideas from concept to execution, navigating feedback like a pro

Traditional agency experience is not required, but it's a plus. What matters is your deep understanding of what resonates with social audiences. This role is energetic, innovative and forward-thinking. Alongside engaging with communities, you'll guide brands by staying ahead of social trends and cultural moments. In return, you'll join a global agency dedicated to generating buzzworthy ideas for some of the world's leading brands.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Creative Thinking & Problem Solving:

  • Generate innovative ideas that align with client objectives while maintaining a sophisticated level of nuance and creative integrity
  • Direct high level art and copy to ensure the final output resonates with target audiences and meets strategic brand requirements
  • Navigate complex project challenges, including tight deadlines and evolving budgets, by finding adaptable solutions that do not compromise quality
  • Translate abstract concepts into concrete, actionable creative briefs that guide the team toward successful execution
  • Manage high volume workloads by prioritizing tasks effectively across multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Optimize project timelines to meet rigorous client expectations without sacrificing the depth or quality of the creative output
  • Own and manage the building of pitch and concept decks from start-to-finish, including write ups, references and custom visual comps

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

  • Confidently defend art direction and creative strategies to internal and external stakeholders using clear, persuasive visual and verbal references
  • Decode complex client feedback into constructive revisions, ensuring the creative vision remains intact while satisfying project requirements
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure creative synergy and operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
  • Present to large groups of people with passion and poise and clearly communicating concepts to clients, selling in the strongest ideas

Management & Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire the creative team by overseeing the development and execution of high quality campaigns that consistently align with client goals
  • Oversee and mentor copywriters and art directors through task delegation and constructive feedback to ensure all deliverables meet the highest agency standards
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages risk-taking and professional growth within the creative department
  • Build and maintain senior level client relationships, acting as a strategic partner to translate their business needs into compelling creative visions
  • Prioritize and delegate work to maintain timelines and budgets while delivering best-in-class work

Technical Skills & AI Fluency:

  • Use AI tools for rapid headline generation/briefing and visual style exploration and pitch look-and-feel
  • Pitch ideas that blend emerging AI tools with traditional storytelling to create unique campaign opportunities
  • Use AI to help streamline processes, such as workflows compress the ideation phase, expand creative horizons, and to develop campaign briefs & presentations
  • Act as the team's AI subject matter expert, training staff on new capabilities and leading the conversation on the proactive, ethical use of AI in creative workflows

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

  • 9+ years experience working within an agency or internal brand team with creative leadership experience
  • You have a proven track record of creating breakthrough social media content for tech and/or entertainment brands (platforms, studios, streamers, exhibitors, franchises).
  •  You speak culture. You know who, where, when, and why in film, music, design, streetwear, celebrity, trends. Your friends turn to you to explain what's happening on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media.
  • You understand how to be authentically native on social platforms via short-form video, motion graphics, trending sounds, etc.
  • You are a strong communicator who treats co-workers and clients with empathy and respect
  • Ability to oversee both visual and narrative components of large-scale campaigns
  • Experience crafting creative strategies that are grounded in market data and client KPIs
