What is a creative therapy solution?

Creative Therapy Solutions refer to therapeutic services that use creative arts—such as art, music, drama, or dance—to help individuals express themselves, process emotions, and improve their mental well-being. These therapies are often used alongside traditional talk therapy to provide a holistic approach to mental health care. Creative therapy can benefit people of all ages and is especially helpful for those who find it difficult to communicate their feelings verbally. The goal is to foster self-expression, healing, and personal growth through creative means.

Creative Therapy Solution and Art Therapist both work in mental health and wellness settings, often utilizing creative methods. However, Creative Therapy Solution may refer to a broader approach or program, while Art Therapist is a specific licensed profession with formal credentials. Both roles aim to improve clients' mental health through creative expression, but Art Therapists have specialized training in art-based therapy techniques.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in creative therapy roles, and how can they be effectively managed?

Professionals in creative therapy roles often encounter challenges such as establishing trust with clients, adapting therapeutic techniques to diverse needs, and maintaining boundaries between personal creativity and professional practice. Managing these challenges involves ongoing professional development, regular supervision, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clients receive holistic care. Building strong communication skills and practicing self-care are also essential for sustaining effectiveness and personal well-being in this rewarding yet demanding field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a creative arts therapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creative Arts Therapist, you typically need a background in psychology, counseling, or a related field, along with specialized training in art, music, drama, or dance therapy and appropriate licensure or certification. Familiarity with therapeutic assessment tools, creative modalities, and client documentation systems is important. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to foster a safe, nonjudgmental environment help clients express themselves and work through emotional challenges. These skills are crucial for facilitating meaningful therapeutic outcomes and supporting client well-being through creative processes.

Job description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst | Scottsdale, AZ
Full Time | $95,000-$105,000/year
We're a BCBA-owned, woman-led ABA practice, and we're looking for a BCBA who wants smaller caseloads, real support, and room to grow.
Come join our Creative Crew!
Creative Therapy Solution provides children and families with high-quality, person-centered Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We're proud to be BCBA-owned and women-led, which means clinical quality and staff wellbeing drive every decision we make, not a corporate parent company.
We work with both early intervention and school-aged clients, giving our clinicians a diverse, engaging caseload and the chance to build skills across age groups and settings.
Why BCBAs choose CTS:
  • 🌟 Smaller caseloads - so you can actually do the deep, individualized work you were trained for
  • 🌟 BCBA-owned & women-led - clinical decisions made by clinicians, not shareholders
  • 🌟 Early intervention + school-age populations - variety that keeps your skills sharp and your work interesting
  • 🌟 Variety of service environments - school, home, social groups, clinic, and community settings
  • 🌟 A culture built on growth, inclusion, accountability, and joy
Our Culture
We're guided by four simple values, growth, inclusion, accountability, and joy, and you'll see them show up in how we work every day. We tackle the hard stuff head-on, because it's usually the work that matters most. We listen to and respect every voice on our team, show up for each other, and take real ownership of what we do. And through it all, we make sure there's genuine joy in the work.
If you're a BCBA who wants to keep growing, both clinically and professionally, while carrying smaller, more manageable caseloads that let you actually do right by your clients, we'd love to meet you.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related field
  • AZ Licensure
  • Current BCBA certification
  • 1+ years of experience working with children with autism and related disorders
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to train and manage Registered Behavior Technicians
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
Benefits
  • Smaller caseloads
  • Company-issued iPad/computer and phone
  • CEU opportunities + access to industry-leading learning
  • PTO, holiday pay, and paid sick time
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with a 50% premium match
  • Annual team events
  • Online practice management and data collection systems
  • Career advancement opportunities in a growing, clinician-led company

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85260 (in person) Travel: Up to 50% across service environments
