Troutman Pepper Strategies' Washington, DC office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the firm's federal lobbying team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legislative process, policy analysis, and advocacy strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in government affairs and public policy.

This program will runfrom August 24thto December 11th, 2026. Exact dates are flexible depending on the circumstances of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing federal legislation and regulatory developments.

  • Conduct research on policy issues relevant to our clients and prepare briefing materials.

  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials.

  • Attend congressional hearings, briefings, and other relevant events to gather information and insights.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating client databases and contact lists.

  • Provide administrative support to the lobbying team as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-quality service and partner effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the firm as well as external contacts.

  • Good communicator; strong writing, research, and editing skills.

  • Solid judgment; critical thinking skills; self-starter; attentive to detail; a sense of teamwork; ability to handle multiple tasks.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college.

  • Experience in word processing and spreadsheets programs and associated tasks.
