What is a creative startup?

A Creative Startup is a new business venture focused on innovative ideas in creative industries such as design, media, technology, fashion, art, or entertainment. These startups combine creativity and entrepreneurship to develop unique products, services, or experiences that stand out in the market. Their goal is often to disrupt traditional industries or introduce entirely new concepts, leveraging creativity as a core competitive advantage. Creative Startups typically thrive in dynamic environments and may use technology to scale their impact and reach wider audiences.

What are some common challenges faced when working in a creative startup environment?

Working in a creative startup often means embracing a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere where roles and responsibilities can shift rapidly as the company grows. Team members may face challenges such as managing tight deadlines, adapting to frequent changes in project direction, and balancing creativity with the need to deliver tangible results. However, these challenges are often offset by a collaborative culture, opportunities to contribute ideas, and the potential for rapid career growth as the startup scales. It's important to be flexible, proactive, and open to wearing multiple hats while thriving in this environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a creative startup founder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creative Startup Founder, you need a blend of entrepreneurial mindset, creative problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of business fundamentals, often supported by experience or education in entrepreneurship or design. Familiarity with digital design tools, project management software, and startup accelerators is highly valuable. Excellent communication, resilience, and leadership are crucial soft skills for inspiring teams and networking with stakeholders. These competencies are important because they drive innovation, enable efficient business operations, and help navigate the challenges of launching and scaling a creative venture.

What is the difference between Creative Startup vs Graphic Designer?

AspectCreative StartupGraphic Designer
Required CredentialsPortfolio, relevant design skills, sometimes a degree in design or related fieldPortfolio, design software proficiency, degree or certification often preferred
Work EnvironmentFast-paced, innovative, often small teams or freelance settingsDesign studios, agencies, corporate in-house teams, freelance
Employer & Industry UsageStartups, creative agencies, entrepreneurial venturesAdvertising, marketing, media, corporate branding

While both roles involve creative skills, a Creative Startup typically refers to working within or founding a new business focused on innovation and branding, often in a flexible environment. A Graphic Designer specializes in visual communication, working on specific design projects across various industries. The main difference lies in scope: Creative Startup roles often encompass broader responsibilities including branding, marketing, and business development, whereas Graphic Designers focus primarily on visual design tasks.

The role

Rewind is hiring a hands-on Creative Marketing Producer to produce and amplify our story across digital, search, social, and community, and to turn our internal experts into recognized industry voices. You'll keep Rewind visible everywhere buyers look, including AI-driven search, and you'll operationalize the programs that carry our narrative into the market. You'll work directly with the Manager, Brand and Community, who sets the brand narrative, tone, and strategy; you execute, produce, monitor, and refine. This is an AI-first, fast-moving production role; broad, operational, and outcome-focused.

What you'll do Graphic & video production support (AI-assisted)
  • Produce a high volume of on-brand visuals and short-form video on quick turnarounds: social graphics, web visuals, ad creative, infographics, decks, and clips repurposed from webinars, demos, and podcasts.

  • Work AI-first, using Claude Design and generative tools alongside Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, CapCut, and Opus, and build reusable templates so other teams can self-serve.

  • Work cross-functionally with product and marketing teams to showcase our product through modern, engaging graphics and video: product imagery, product videos, feature explainers, and campaign creative built for our audience.

Internal Influencer Program
  • Build and run Rewind's internal influencer program; turning execs, engineers, PMs, and data/subject-matter experts into trusted public voices.

  • Ghostwrite and produce for internal experts across LinkedIn, articles, posts, speaker pitches, and community, extracting technical insights and turning them into simple, credible stories.

  • Create tailored voice guides for internal contributors while staying aligned to the brand narrative set by the Manager, Brand and Community.

  • Coach contributors on clarity, presence, and message discipline; support speaking submissions and conference materials.

Search visibility & content production - SEO, AEO & GEO
  • Own answer-engine (AEO) and generative-engine (GEO) optimization so Rewind surfaces well in AI-driven search, not just traditional SEO.

  • Use an LLM-visibility tool (e.g., Limy.ai) to monitor how Rewind is perceived by AI/LLM search, identify opportunities and gaps, and act on them quarter over quarter.

  • Produce and continuously refine search-led content in partnership with the Head of Brand and refine against search and performance data.

  • Translate search and LLM-visibility insights into a prioritized, data-informed production roadmap and keep it current as the data shifts.

Digital marketing & web operations
  • Own fast, reliable updates in WordPress (our CMS) - website copy, page changes, and published articles.

  • Use Claude Design and related AI tools to support web production and keep pages current, accurate, and on-brand.

  • Handle on-page implementation (metadata, structure, internal links) and QA across the site.

Social media program
  • Build and run a comprehensive social program in cross-functional collaboration with the marketing team, using AI to automate and ensure consistency.

  • Build and maintain a calendar that repurposes assets across platforms.

  • Run social listening to surface where Rewind should show up on Reddit and other discussion forums we're not yet active in.

  • Track social analytics to identify what's working and where to focus effort.

Community & engagement
  • Produce Rewind's presence across community channels and technical ecosystems, amplifying expert voices to strengthen trust and visibility.

  • Operate community content as a narrative engine, designed for conversation and contribution, not volume production.

Performance analytics & decisioning
  • Pull together performance data across influencer, search, web, and social, and turn it into clear quarter-over-quarter recommendations tied to engagement and pipeline contribution.

Who you are
  • You think in stories and narratives, not just assets and outputs.

  • You can turn technical insights into simple, powerful messages, and ghostwrite in multiple voices while staying authentic.

  • You're AI-first - fluent (or fast-learning) with AI tools for production, automation, and analysis, and can juggle multiple projects with them.

  • You're data-literate and let performance guide where you spend time.

  • You're proactive, organized, fast, curious, and not afraid to push for clarity.

What you'll bring
  • 3–5 years across two or more of: digital/web marketing, social media, search/SEO, communications, or content production; a true generalist, not a single-discipline specialist.

  • Hands-on experience using Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Hands-on with WordPress and comfortable making quick, clean web updates.

  • Experience ghostwriting or producing for executives or SMEs is a strong plus.

  • Comfortable using AI design/video tools for quick-turn assets.

  • B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or DevOps exposure is a strong asset.

Nice to have
  • Experience with AEO/GEO and LLM-visibility tooling (e.g., Limy.ai).

  • Social automation and marketing-ops tools (Agorapulse, HubSpot, n8n, or similar).

  • Short-form video editing (CapCut, Opus, Adobe).

Compensation PhilosophyThe actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
