  • Stay Current on Campus Trends: Keep up with campus news, events, trends, and other relevant topics to identify opportunities for timely and engaging content.
  • Manage Projects: Organize daily assignments and project needs using Asana and communicate progress, deadlines, and priorities with the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team: Contribute ideas, participate in planning, and work collaboratively to support marketing initiatives and organizational priorities.

Pay Rate: The anticipated pay for this position starts at $12.00. The final rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, and years within the job or industry.

Schedule: Part-time, primarily Monday–Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with some evenings and weekends as needed and with advance notice.

What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently engage with others in a dynamic campus environment.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok, and a strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices.
  • Comfort being on camera, including taking photographs and participating in video content.
  • Demonstrated experience or practice in copywriting, content creation, and editing.
  • Experience or practice conducting street-style or professional interviews.
  • Knowledge of strategies and best practices for growing a social media following and increasing audience engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with photography, video editing, or other multimedia content creation.
  • Experience creating content for a college, university, student organization, or other campus-focused audience.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms or digital marketing tools.
  • Experience using project management platforms such as Asana.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a professional office setting and may include regular travel between KU Memorial Unions locations and other on-campus locations to support marketing activities and events.
