Job description

Howard Energy Partners (HEP) is seeking a Creative Content Specialist to support the development of high-quality visual content across print, digital, photo, and video. This role is ideal for a design-led creative professional with strong visual judgment, a polished portfolio, and the ability to translate business needs into clear, compelling, and brand-aligned creative work.

Reporting to the Creative Manager, this position will support internal stakeholders across the organization by developing creative assets for communications, presentations, campaigns, employee initiatives, events, and other company materials. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in graphic design, confident in Adobe Creative Cloud, capable with photo and video production, and excited to help elevate the way HEP shows up across every touchpoint.

This is a hands-on creative position for someone who understands that strong brand expression is built through consistency, clarity, quality, and intentional design. This position will play a critical role in helping HEP create stronger work, improve responsiveness, and deliver a more consistent brand experience across the business.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Graphic Design & Visual Content

  • Develop high-quality print and digital creative assets that support internal communications, employee initiatives, presentations, campaigns, events, and department-specific needs.
  • Design materials such as flyers, one-pagers, presentations, digital signage, intranet graphics, campaign visuals, event materials, reports, guides, templates, and other branded collateral.
  • Create work that reflects strong typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Translate complex information into clear, accessible, and visually engaging materials.
  • Prepare production-ready files for print and digital delivery, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Support the creation and refinement of branded templates and reusable creative assets for internal use.
  • Maintain organized working files, exported assets, photography, video files, and project materials. 

Photo & Video Production

  • Capture and edit photography that supports company storytelling, employee communications, events, culture initiatives, facilities, field locations, and departmental needs.
  • Produce polished video content for internal communications, campaigns, events, and other company initiatives.
  • Assist with video planning, storyboarding, filming, editing, audio capture, lighting, and post-production as needed.
  • Operate company-provided camera, audio, and lighting equipment independently.
  • Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, with attention to pacing, music, sound, color, storytelling, and brand consistency.
  • Use Lightroom and Photoshop to edit, organize, and prepare photography for various uses. 

Brand Standards & Creative Quality

  • Help ensure HEP’s brand is expressed consistently across print, digital, photo, and video touchpoints.
  • Apply and support brand standards related to logo usage, typography, color, layout, photography, visual tone, and overall creative execution.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to elevate the quality, consistency, and professionalism of creative work across the organization.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by helping internal stakeholders understand and apply visual standards appropriately.
  • Balance creativity with discipline, ensuring work feels fresh and thoughtful while remaining aligned with HEP’s established brand standards. 

Internal Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the organization to understand project needs, goals, audiences, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple creative projects at various stages, from intake and concept development through revisions and final delivery.
  • Ask thoughtful questions, clarify requests, and help shape project direction when needed.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, feedback, and next steps clearly and professionally.
  • Receive, interpret, and apply feedback while maintaining a high standard of creative quality.
  • Provide a strong customer-service experience for internal departments while protecting the integrity of the brand.
  • Support both day-to-day creative needs and larger company initiatives. 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia, Marketing, Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating professional-level creative work, with an emphasis on graphic design.
  • Professional experience in graphic design, multimedia design, visual communications, or a related creative role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially:
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Photoshop 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, color, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience designing for both print and digital platforms.
  • Ability to create polished, professional materials in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate in a Mac-based creative workflow.
  • Experience capturing and editing photo and video content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder requests at the same time.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • High attention to detail, including spelling, formatting, file preparation, and brand consistency. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a corporate or in-house creative environment.
  • Experience supporting internal communications, employee engagement, corporate events, or business-facing creative projects.
  • Experience with professional camera, audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Experience editing polished internal videos, interviews, event recaps, or employee storytelling pieces.
  • Experience designing presentation decks and executive-facing materials.
  • Experience creating templates, brand resources, or visual systems.
  • Experience with project management platforms, creative workflow tools, or digital asset management systems.
  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or basic motion graphics.
  • Experience working with print vendors and preparing production-ready files.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, intranet platforms, or internal resource centers.

Physical Demands and Hazards for Office Employees:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent computer use, occasional lifting of office supplies, and may involve travel.
