This is an office-based position 2 days a week. 

Responsibilities

The Expert Project Manager is responsible for managing complex projects. This role handles high-impact projects and may mentor less experienced Project Managers

  • Project Planning: Independently manage multiple complex, simultaneous implementations. Lead the planning and execution of complex projects. Create and deliver Statements of Work (SOW) and Change Requests.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Set and manage expectations. Proactively address potential delivery challenges and solutions.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources across projects to ensure optimal use of skills and capabilities. Optimize resource allocations across sprints, backlogs, and customers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality. Ensure appropriate level of test coverage and types of testing are planned and executed.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of project outcomes. Develop strong working relationships and proactive communication practices with customers.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project risks. Lead mitigation strategies.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensure that expenses are kept within bill rates and margins. Create and manage billing activities. Support forecast of future revenue expectation.
  • Governance & Reporting: Provide project status to stakeholders, escalate risks to project as needed. Support Director or lead Governance meetings.
  • Mentorship: Mentor less experienced Project Managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale projects
  • Demonstrates a high level of proficiency and strategic thinking.
  • Consistently showcases their capabilities and achievements.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering high-impact projects on time and within budget
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills in managing multiple simultaneous complex projects with experience in the software/SaaS industry.
  • Project Management Tools: Expertise in JIRA, Projector and Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced adherence to Agile and Scrum.
  • Advanced Understanding of SDLC: Comprehensive understanding of SDLC phases, including advanced knowledge of Agile frameworks. Ability to further define best practices as well as influence processes across the organization.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze complex project metrics. Capable of identifying patterns, potential risks, and opportunities for process improvement. Proficient in presenting data-driven insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Ability to foresee, identify, navigate and resolve complex problems across the organization often resulting in new ideas or suggestions for improvement. Ownership of issues which require action plans or subsequent long-term resolution to mitigate reoccurrence.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Expertise in comprehensive budget and financial management, resource allocation, and financial reporting. Experienced in adjusting forecasts as needed and ensuring adherence to financial targets. Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Expertise in managing complex project risks and issues across multiple teams or workstreams. Skilled in performing in-depth risk assessments, quantifying risk impact, and proactively developing contingency plans. Lead risk review sessions, engage with stakeholders to address high-priority risks, and mitigate issues that threaten project timelines or budget. Adept at facilitating issue resolution through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Change Management: Take a consultative approach with customer to manage project change requests. Communicate impact of change requests to customers; provide options/pros and cons, feasibility, and timeline impacts.
