Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Project Manager.
Summary: This position is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced small company. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all phases of projects from conception to closeout. This position will involve planning, monitoring, and controlling processes while maintaining the highest level of internal customer satisfaction. You will create project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements. Overall, it will be your job to coordinate, document, and drive tasks for the project and provide the team with direction and support. This is a Salaried, exempt position.
Keyresponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Independently manage small projects or a single major project with the responsibility for managing budget, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Assure engagement and alignment from required project owners for all projects, including outside resources such as engineering partners and contractors.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, budget, schedule, and goals
  • Assist in the development and execution of mill and area capital plans
  • Cultivate a work environment centered around employee ownership and engagement
  • Lead all projects to achieve a safety and environmental incident free workplace identifying critical hazards and mitigating the risk based on criticality while achieving desired business objectives
  • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding requirements, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
  • Conduct project status reviews, readiness, project close out/completion, post project learning and implement best practices.
  • Develop sub-contractors and project support procedures and site liaison responsibilities for third party management.
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years' experience in project engineering roles within a pulp and paper manufacturing operation.
  • Demonstrated effective execution of the FEL Work Process.
  • Experience giving presentations and distributing information to all levels within the organization, including executives, production employees, and large audiences.
  • Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects while maintaining a sense of urgency.
