The Manager of Creative Services leads the university's creative services function, overseeing the development and execution of visual communications, branding initiatives, multimedia content, and creative campaigns that advance Prairie View A&M University's strategic goals. Serving as both a strategic creative leader and a hands-on contributor, this position is responsible for developing original creative concepts and personally designing a wide range of marketing and communications materials. The Manager oversees creative operations, ensures brand consistency across all platforms, and provides leadership for design, photography, videography, digital content, and collateral production. This role actively contributes to the creation of print and digital assets, collaborates with stakeholders across the institution, and delivers innovative, high-quality creative solutions that elevate the university's visibility, engagement and reputation.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University's compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates' education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Creative Strategy, Branding, Visual Identity & Design Production: Develop and execute creative strategies that support institutional priorities and marketing objectives; serve as a lead graphic designer for university marketing and communications initiatives; create and design a wide range of collateral, including brochures, publications, advertisements, event materials, presentations, social media graphics, digital assets, and promotional materials; contribute to the development and evolution of the university's visual identity; ensure consistency and excellence in the application of brand standards across all communications. This position is expected to produce a significant volume of creative work and serve as a primary designer on major institutional projects, using innovative design and visual storytelling techniques to enhance audience engagement and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Creative Project Management & Production: Manage creative projects from concept through completion across print, digital, social media, video, web, and environmental communications; establish project timelines, priorities, and workflows; coordinate internal and external creative resources to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Creative Direction: Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to creative staff, freelancers, and vendors; establish performance expectations and promote professional development; facilitate creative reviews and brainstorming sessions; provide creative direction and quality assurance for all visual communications and design deliverables.
  • Multimedia Content Development & Storytelling: Oversee photography, videography, graphic design, and multimedia production projects; collaborate with content creators and communications staff to develop compelling visual storytelling assets; ensure content aligns with institutional messaging and audience engagement goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Client Services: Partner with academic and administrative units to identify communication needs and develop effective creative solutions; serve as a strategic advisor on creative best practices; maintain strong relationships with internal clients and external partners to ensure exceptional service and successful project outcomes.
  • Innovation, Tends & Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, marketing, and creative services; evaluate and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, and creative impact; contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in n Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or closely related field.
  • Five years of related experience in graphic design, web development, print and electronic media, marketing, or related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of print processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of graphic design.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
