The Quality Manager-Systems role to be located Saint Louis, Mo is a challenging opportunity for an individual interested in expanding their Leadership and Quality Systems knowledge.
About the Role
This role will be an enterprise role that will require engagement with all functions and all sites as we add and/or make improvements to our Watlow Business System. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as well as in teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership in the implementation of quality business systems, training systems, and manufacturing processes/systems for the enterprise. This position will enable us to meet the needs of the Watlow Semiconductor, Energy and Environmental Technology and Thermal Systems business units serving customer in the medical, nuclear, semiconductor, food, energy and transportation industries. This opportunity will require strong linkage to Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives within Watlow.
You will design/improve and implement new business systems that support a common standard across all sites that align to the needs of the business. You will be engaged with both internal and external customers in this position. You will also lead root cause analysis efforts and improvement efforts to ensure customer/Watlow quality and customer standards are met. You will be a member of the Quality Leadership Team leading the organization toward our Watlow 2023 Vision and the Watlow Quality Vision 2023. This position will report directly to the Director of Global Quality
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and coaching of team members including New Product Development Quality Engineers
  • Subject matter expert for quality skills such as APQP, PPAP, Copy Exact, POR and complex quality tools
  • Formulates or assists in formulating and implementing quality control policies and procedures
  • Focuses on improving products or processes that impact one or more technical areas or across multiple manufacturing locations by researching new and existing business and quality systems within and outside of the organization
  • Implementing and training of the best solution for business and/or quality systems to address the needs of the business and/or our customers.
  • Coaches teams on application of cause chains, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams, 8D, RCCA, A3 systems thinking, creative problem solving and the development of trade-off curves
  • Member of the Quality Leadership Team, leading and supporting action/projects in support of enterprise needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in field of specialization or bachelor's degree and related experience
  • Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP PQP, CRAM's, POR, and Copy Exact and methodologies
  • Strong data management skills. Excel, SharePoint Sequel Server databases.

  • Semi-conductor/Medical/Nuclear/Automotive experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification highly desired

  • Demonstrated ability to create and foster a leadership environment that is conducive to teamwork and demonstrates a genuine concern for the personal development of the team's members.
