About the Role:

We are looking for a Head of Creative Marketing to lead how Planet shows up in the world.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing and responsible for creative direction across the company. You will define how we translate Earth data, AI, and geospatial intelligence into clear and understandable storytelling that drives awareness, trust, and revenue.

We are looking for someone who has experience evolving brands to meet moments of change and can translate that into clear, consistent work across the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will set direction and stay close to the work. You should be strong in brand and creative thinking and willing to operate in a player coach mode, guiding the team while actively shaping the work.

This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:

  • Set and lead creative direction, ensuring a clear and consistent narrative across the company
  • Evolve Planet's brand and visual identity to reflect where the business is going, and ensure it is applied consistently across all channels
  • Translate complex ideas into simple, clear, and compelling stories, improving how we communicate what we do, why it matters, and who it is for
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary creative team across data visualization, design, web, motion, video, and content, setting clear expectations for quality, speed, and accountability
  • Operate as a hands-on leader, staying close to the work and providing direct input on concepts, storytelling, and execution
  • Improve how we communicate through visuals, including data visualization and motion, ensuring clarity and consistency across outputs
  • Work closely with the leadership team to shape the company story and support executive communications, presentations, and key moments
  • Establish clear workflows and prioritization to improve how creative work moves from concept to delivery
  • Introduce and scale the use of AI and new technologies to improve creative production, speed, and overall team effectiveness

What You Bring:

  • 12-15 years of creative leadership experience within B2B, technology, or highly complex product sectors
  • Experience evolving or updating a brand to reflect a changing market or company direction
  • Mastery of brand strategy and storytelling, with a distinct ability to translate complex ideas into clear, high-impact narratives that drive business results
  • Adept at building mentoring and leading multidisciplinary teams across design, web, motion, and data visualization
  • Comfortable operating in a player coach model, leading while staying close to the work
  • A robust portfolio demonstrating a mastery of visual storytelling and systems thinking

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
